Deputy Inspector of Police dies of coronavirus in Edo

A deputy Inspector of police has been confirmed dead of coronavirus disease in his apartment in Edo.


Fighting a war with unknown enemies is better than been in a battlefield with invisible enemy because every strategic plans will fail to work due to accurate prediction of the visible enemy.

The world today are currently face with this invisible enemy called Corona Virus or Covid-19, that has cripple every sector of the world.

Since the first outbreak in Nigeria 27th of February 2020 in Lagos State from Italian citizen who arrived from Milan, Italy. Federal government with their preparedness group NCDC to oversee that the virus does not spread rapidly but which eventually spread to different part of country with over 1000 index cases, 222 recovered and 35 deaths recorded so far.

The death of Edo State Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Francis Bissong in charge of Zonal Criminal Investigation Department in Benin, Edo State who suddenly fell ill on the 14th of April after show positive symptoms was isolated at his home while his blood sample was taken to laboratory for test, however, the result turn out positive.

On Tuesday 21, April, 2020 was a black Tuesday for the Nigerian Police Force after DCP Bissong became the first security personnel to be victim of invisible enemy (Covid-19) bring to third death recorded in the State.

His death has revealed health hazard face by Nigerian security personnels in the process of enforcing the lockdown since the outbreak in Nigeria, this is a call for quality welfare and protection skit for all security personnel.
