UNIOSUN virtual matriculation; the university has said that ASUU lacks basis to call her virtual matriculation a scam.
Osun State University, Osogbo, UNIOSUN has responded to ASUU’s claim of her virtual matriculation as scam to be baseless as they fail to blend with the circumstance.
The university through her public relations officer, Ademola Adesoji has said the UNIOSUN virtual matriculation is not a scam as all necessary requirements for the ceremony was met beforehand.
UNIOSUN made another history being the first University in Nigeria to hold a virtual matriculation ceremony for her students.
The university said the virtual matriculation which was held via ZOOM virtual meeting platform was attended by 99% of her fresh students.
Ademola Adesoji further said the ceremony didn’t pose any problems or challenges to either the students or the staffs as they are both accustomed to the platform.
The university PRO said the matriculation ceremony was attended in batches of hundred, which make it easier for the students and the staff.
He therefore said the claim by an ASUU zonal coordinator that the matriculation ceremony was a scam was baseless.
Adesoji recalled the University’s vice Chancellor, Prof. Labode Popoola’s speech on the need to embrace the new lifestyle cause by the novel coronavirus or sink to it.

He nevertheless advised ASUU to seize the opportunity in building their capacities in online teaching and other activities, adding that the world we knew before the advent of COVID-19 is “gone and gone forever”
In addition, the university pointed out how ridiculous it was to say she doesn’t have adequate facilities for effective e-learning.
UNIOSUN said she has been using e-learning method for her students both fresher’s and stellate alike far before the outbreak of COVID-19 and all her staffs are well adapted to the method.
