President Buhari renews the appointment of Benjamin Akabueze as the Director General of Budget office of the Federation.
The reappointment was announced earlier today in a statement released by a finance ministry’s spokes person, Yunusa Abdullahi.
In his statement, Mr. Abdullahi said the appointment is due to several improvement and the Sterling performance of Akabueze.
“Akabueze has a track record of sterling performance & it is due to his achievements that Mr President has approved Akabueze’s tenure to be renewed for another term in order to institutionalise the achievements for a sustainable improvement in the Budget Office of the Federation.” He said.
Benjamin Akabueze was appointed as the director general of Budget office of the Federation on the 10th of June, 2016 from being the Special Adviser Planning (SAP) to the president.
He was the CEO of the then NAL Bank, now Sterling Bank from 2000 to 2005 before his appointment as the commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget of Lagos state in 2007.
As President Buhari renews the appointment of Benjamin Akabueze, his appointment will now elapse by 10th of June 2024.
