Lagos State runs out of bed space for COVID-19 patients, decides to admit only critical cases.
The state’s Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, made this know to the press earlier yesterday.
Prof. Abayomi said Lagos State has exceeds the containment phase and now at the phase of active community transmission.
“We will be concentrating on people with severe cases and isolating them while mild cases will be managed at home. Our attention is shifting to community-based isolation.” He said.
The Nation also reported that the state has recorded many positive cases among security personnels.
As a result of this, the sate has begun rapid testing for COVID-19 among officers and men.
More so, the state has been tracking contacts with officers confirmed of the virus.
It is also noteworthy that with the daily COVID-19 situation report by NCDC yesterday, confirming 199 new cases in the state, the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria reaches 6,677.
There has also been 1840 recoveries and 200 deaths.
