The government of Katsina state lifts ban on religious gathering, inter-local government travels within the state.
Katsina under the leadership of Governor Aminu Masari has approved the lift on religious gathering within the state.
This was contained in a statement by the Secretary to the state government, Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa in Katsina.
The state will relax lockdown throughout the weekend starting from Friday, to allow Muslim faithful observe their Jumat prayers and Christians, their Sunday service.
Alhaji Inuwa said the state also lifts ban on travel within local governments in the states.
Speaking on the decision of the state’s government to lift ban on religious gathering, the secretary explained that the decision is to enable both the Muslims and Christians in the state observe their religious activities.
He also advised a strict observation of COVID-19 preventive measures, such as wearing of nose masks, physical distancing, washing of hands with soap and running water and the use of hand sanitizer.
DailyTrust recalled that the governor of the state, Governor Masari, after reviewing the relaxed lockdown across the state, has decided to return the full lockdown in three councils of Katsina, Daura and Batagarawa.
The three local governments has accounted for the most cases in the state, with about 80 percent of the total recorded cases.
