APC NWC Divided as Oshiomole Gets Suspension

APC National Working Committee (NWC) divided as Oshiomole gets suspension, and Ajimobi who is set to take his place is hospitalized.

The crisis within the All Progressive Congress (APC) has taken another turn as the National Working Committee of the party is divided.

This follows the decision of the court of Appeal that retains the suspension of the APC National President, Adams Oshiomole.

Earlier on Tuesday, a three-member panel of the Court of Appeal had affirmed the judgment of Justice Danlami Senchi of a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, which on March 4, ordered Oshiomhole to step aside as the national chairman of the ruling party.

In a bid to fill the vacant chairmanship position, the NWC had to hold an emergency meeting to decide the interim committee.

However, according to the party’s constitution (Section 14.2. (iii)), the next in line for the seat is the Deputy National Chairman (South) and former Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

But unfortunately, Senator Ajimobi has been reportedly hospitalized in an undisclosed hospital with a disease which may be coronavirus desease.

With this development, the APC Constitution allows the party to mandate its National Vice-Chairman (South-south), Chief Hillary Ettah, to act as the interim chairman.
