PMNews added that the claim to have discovered a vaccine was published on a local newspaper website, bioRxiv of friday.

In the abstract of the said report, the researchers said their vaccine, which they tested on hamsters, “results in rapid and potent induction of neutralising antibodies against SARS-CoV-2,” the virus that causes COVID-19.

The report added that two different groups of roddents were infested with the virus, but only one group has been tested with the as at the time of the report.

However, the untested group has been reported to be sick while the tested group are healthy and fine.

The report reads;

“Importantly, single-dose vaccination was able to protect hamsters against SARS-CoV-2 challenge, as demonstrated by the abrogation of body weight loss of the immunised hamsters compared to unvaccinated hamsters.”

Still on the report, it claimed that the group of hamsters not yet given the vaccine has shown serious lung damage, while the group given the vaccine only “showed only minor lung pathology”

Therefore, the laboratory has said they’ll procceed to testing on other animals before procceeding to human trial and check for side effects.

Meanwhile, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the US government’s top expert, has cautioned that even if everything goes perfectly, developing a vaccine in 12 to 18 months would set a record for speed.

Roddent testing is one of the effective way of testing any potential human drugs and madicines, same goes for vaccines and antidotes.

However, most labs prefer white rat as they have the organs similar to that of human being.

But, could this be a good news? With Israeli COVID-19 vaccine trial successful, the world could see an end to this global pandemic soon. Your sincere opinions are highly required.
