COVID-19: Osun discharge 4 patients, record one new case

COVID-19 Update: Osun state discharge 4 patients as the state record one new case of the virus, the number of active cases in the state now six.

The Osun state government has announced the discharge of 4 patients of the coronavirus desease in the state.

This was revealed in a statement released on Wednesday by the Osun state Commisioner for Health, Dr. Rafiu Osamotu in Osogbo.

Dr. Osamotu revealed that among the discharged patient is one patient brought in last week with severe underlying ailments, adding that the quick recovery of the patient despite the underlying ailment is a glimmer of hope.

However, the state has recorded another new case of the coronavirus disease in the state, now taking the number of active COVID-19 cases in the state to six as at June 10, 2020.

The commisioner revealed that the new case contracted the virus from previously confirmed case.

He said;

“we have recorded one new case bringing the number of active cases in the state to six. The patient contracted the virus from a previous confirmed case. But the good news also is that we also treated and discharged four patients as well.”

It is of note that the discovery of this new case takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Osun state to 50.

While speaking, Dr. Isamotu revealed that the state has successfully treated and discharged 40 patients out of the said 50.

He added that 4 patients were unfortunately dead and the state currently has 6 active cases of the virus in the.
