COVID-19 Update: Toll rise to 14554 as NCDC records 681 new cases

COVID-19 toll rise to 14554 as NCDC records 681 new cases of the virus in Nigeria with death toll increasing to 387.

The Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control (NCDC) has discovered fresh six hundred and eighty-one (681) new case of coronavirus disease in Nigeria.

In the NCDC update for Thursday 11th of June, the toll has risen to 14554 with number of recorded deaths increasing to the 681.

The breakdown of the 681 new cases by states shows that Lagos, as usual, take the highest number of 345 new cases.

Meanwhile, Rivers State was also reported with a number of 51 new cases and Ogun state with 48 new cases. Gombe also recorded 47 new cases of the deadly virus.

Oyo state on its own recorded 36 new cases and Imo state has 31 new cases, while Delta State recorded 28 new cases.

Meanwhile, Kano has another 23 while Bauchi had 18 of the 681 NCDC reported cases and Edo state has 12.

Similarly, Katsina recorded 12 new cases of the pandemic disease on Thursday, while Kaduna had just 9 new cases.

Also, Anambra state had 7 new cases and Jigawa had 5. Likewise Kebbi and Ondo we’re not left behind as they had an equal number of 4 new cases and Nasarawa had only 1.

According to NCDC, the death toll also increased from 365 to 387, meaning there were 22 deaths cause by the virus on Thursday.

However, the number of discharged patient has also risen to 4494 from 4206 which is an improvement on its part.
