COVID-19: US recorded over 45k new cases in a day

US recorded over 45k new cases of COVID-19 in a day, total cases rise to 2.48 million.

United States recorded highest cases of COVID-19 disease ever, having recorded over 45 thousand cases in day.

This came to play as US recorded 45,242 new cases of the viral disease on Friday, taking the tally of the disease in the country to over 2 million confirmed cases.

This new development rise as several states at the epicenter of a new surge in infections took steps back from efforts to ease restrictions on businesses.

Gov. Greg Abbott ordered bars across Texas to close by mid-day and required restaurants to limit indoor seating capacity to 50 percent, while Florida state officials told bars to immediately stop serving alcohol on their premises.

Abbot’s announcement stunned Texas bar owners, who said the governor, a Republican in his second term, had given them little notice.

Meanwhile, some of the concerned persons were not aware on time, which is evident from the experience of Mark Martinez, the owner of a Lubbock beer garden who learned only when friends texted him the news at around 8 a.m.
