Nigeria Records New 745 COVID-19 cases

Nigeria records new 745 COVID-19 cases on Thursday 18th of June, death toll rise from 469 to 475.

The Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control, NCDC has declared the confirmation of another 745 new COVID-19 cases in Nigeria.

NCDC gave this number in the daily COVID-19 situation report by the agency.

According to their report released via their official twitter handle, 280 out of the reported 745 new cases were recorded in Lagos State.

A further breakdown shows that Oyo state also record a high number of 103 new COVID-19 cases in the state.

Moreso, Ebonyi state also recorded 72 new cases and FCT Abuja recorded 60 new cases on Thursday.

Furthermore, Imo state recorded 46 new cases of the 745 total cases, Edo recorded 34, and Delta recorded 33.

Similarly, Rivers and Kaduna states recorded 25 and 23 new cases respectively, while Ondo recorded 16.

Also, Katsina and Kano states recorded 12 and 10 new cases respectively, and Bauchi recorded just 8.

Meanwhile, other states that recorded new cases of the pandemic virus and the number of new cases are as thus;

Borno – 7, Kwara – 5, Gombe – 4, Sokoto – 2, Enugu – 2, Yobe – 1, Osun – 1, and Nasarawa – 1.

With this discovery of a new case, osun has recorded just one case this week after discharging four patients last week.

This report for Thursday, 18th of June makes the total number of coronavirus disease recorded in Nigeria so far to reach 18,480.

Out of the total number given, 6,307 of them has fully recovered and discharged, while 475 died of the virus.
