Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state reveals why he visited Asiwaju Tinubu last week, says he doesn’t want the party to scatter.
The governor or Edo state and an aspirants of the coming governorship election of the state has revealed the reason for visiting Asiwaju Bola Hammed Tinubu last weekend.
Obaseki revealed this while speaking to the press on Wednesday.
He explained that the reason he visited the National leader of the All progressive Congress, APC, is for the party not to be torn apart.
“The reason why I went to see our National Leader is that I do not want the party torn apart. I am a man of peace.”
Recall that Nigerian News World had earlier reported that Governor Godwin Obaseki with other 7 governors went for a close door meeting with the national APC leader.
Speaking further, Obaseki said he alongside his governor colleagues can’t afford to see a party they built, destroyed before them.

“We cannot see a ruling party be so weakened and whatever it will take to secure peace, to secure harmony in the party, we are prepared to, I am prepared to make.” He added.
“That is why I joined my colleagues to go and see the leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to assure him that we are all working for the same cause, we are all working to build our party. From 26 States, we are now 20. We don’t want to lose any more state, there is really no reason to. We should all drop our ego and work for our party and the unity of our country.
Nigerian News World has also reported that their has been discord between the governor and the party National chairman, Adams Oshiomole.
Adding that Obaseki boasted that no man can stop he re-election as the governor of Edo state.
