Osun relaxes curfew, gives fresh new directives

Osun set to meet with religious leaders ahead re-opening of places of worship.

The government of Osun state has to meet with religious leaders in the state to decide the reopening of places of worship.

This is in following the directives of the federal government that has allowed the reopening of places of worship starting from this Tuesday.

In a statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation for the State of Osun, Mrs Funke Egbemode, the meeting with religious leaders becomes imperative to ensure proper implementation of the new set of guidelines.

The statement read in part:

“While we appreciate the patience of the citizens of the State of Osun so far, we are using this medium to urge citizens and residents not to be too anxious to assert theliberties contained in the new guidelines, so that we do not lose the gains that we have made over the last few weeks.”

“Although the Federal Government’s new set of guidelines takes effect from June 2nd 2020, the State Government is appealing to the citizens and residentsof the State to exercise some patience, while it holds meetings with religious leaders across the State to work out the modalities for the reopening of worship centres”, it was added.

President Buhari led administration has yesterday gives order to states to reopen religious gathering for their normal services under the preferred directive of each state.

With this new development, the people of Osun state are now anticipating the re-opening the places of worship.
