Breaking: Boko Haram kidnaps Borno state head of hunters

– Boko Haram terrorists kidnapped Borno state head of hunters and chief negotiator of the state.

– Earlier on Friday, the terrorist group had also kidnapped about six people in the state.

The Boko Haram terrorists disrupting the peace of the northern part of Nigeria and some other neighboring countries has carried out another of their dastardly acts in Borno state.

In the latest report, the Boko Haram Terrorists and Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) has been reportedly kidnapped the head of hunters in Borno state over failed negotiation.

The 69-year-old head of Borno state hunters, Abdulkareem Umar, also known as Baba-Maigiwa, is currently being held hostage by the terrorists group’s factional Commander, Modu Sulum in a failed negotiation deal.

According to a report by Global Sentinel, Baba Maigiwa is known to control a group of about 5000 hunters selected across regional states – Cameroon ; CAR ; Burkina Faso, Niger Republic and Nigeria.

Also, according to a counter terrorism expert, Mr. David Otto, “The 69 years old is known to control one of the biggest HUMINT source in the region.”

Furthermore, reports has it that the hunter group has received several support from the Borno state governor, including a number of Toyota Hilux vehicles for raiding, especially when they have to go far into the bush.

Similarly, ISWAP at about 13.14hours on Friday kidnapped six people in Kinchandi, a Lake Chad border town with Niger Republic.

Global Sentinel, in a report, disclosed those abducted to include five males, one female with three of the males coming from Buduma tribe as well as a traditional leader of Gegime town, certain 65 year old Alhaji Abba Kuru.

Meanwhile, there was a news that some army personnels resigned due to lack of interest in the job, but the military outfit has debunked he rumour.
