– COVID-19 updates on Thursday showed that Nigeria recorded 499 new cases of the virus.
– The reports showed new cases in about 27 states across the country.
The Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control, NCDC, has confirmed the discovery of 499 new cases of coronavirus across the country.
The NCDC COVID-19 update for Thursday confirmed this news, showed that the new cases were discovered in about 27 states of the Federation.
A full breakdown showed that the highest number of the 499 cases were recorded in Lagos, having 157 total case on Thursday.
Further analysis showed the Edo state also discovered 59 new cases in the state and Ondo also recorded 56 new cases, which is the highest the state has recorded in recent time.
Also, Oyo recorded 31 new cases, while Akwa Ibom and Borno recorded 22 and 21 new cases respectively.
Also, Plateau state recorded 19 new cases, Kaduna and Katsina recorded 18 each, while Bayelsa and FCT, Abuja also recorded 17 new cases each.
Meanwhile, Delta, Kano and Rivers States recorded 14, 11 and 10 cases respectively on Thursday.
Furthermore, the following state also recorded new cases as part of the 499 cases discovered on Thursday.
They are: Enugu – 8, Ogun – 6, Kwara – 4, Imo – 3, Nasarawa – 2, Osun – 2, Abia – 1, Ekiti – 1, Niger – 1, Yobe – 1.
These new confirmed positive cases therefore rise the number of confirmed positive cases in Nigeria to 30748.
Having recorded 12546 recovery and discharged, however, 689 patients lost to the virus.
