Fadahunsi lied about world Bank grant to Osun - Oyetola

– Gov. Oyetola has described Sen. Fadahunsi a liar over controversial comment on world Bank grant to Osun.

The government of Osun state under the leadership of Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, has debunked the claim by the senator representing Osun East senitorial district that the state received a sum of N9 billion from world Bank.

In a statement by the chief press secretary to the governor, Ismaill Omipidan on Tuesday, the senator has been betold a lie as the state has not received anything of such from the world bank.

“The claim by Senator Francis Fadahunsi that the State of Osun received a certain N9 bililon World Bank fund with nothing to show for it, is not only outlandish, but bogus. At best, the lawmaker representing Osun East, simply lied.” He said.

Explaining the source of the former acting fund the state received, Omipidan said it was a grant of USD20 million from world Bank which is as a result of an impressive performance of the state under the Saving One Million Lives Programme for Result, which the CBN converted about two years ago.

Furthermore, he clarified that the exchange rate at the year was N305 to $1 and the fund was domiciled with the central bank of Nigeria which will only be released after satisfying the procurement process by the world Bank.

The chief press secretary added that the fund was meant for rehabilitating the 332 Primary Health Centers (PHCs) in the state and that is being done as the state has completed 256 PHCs out of the 315 already approved.
