– Gov. Oyetola of Osun state approves a sum of N1.6bn for the construction of 16.55KM road in the state.
The Governor Oyetola led administration has approved a sum of 1.6 billion Naira for the construction of Osogbo-Kelebe-Iragbiji road which is about 16.55KM.
This was contained in a state signed by the state’s Commisioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Remi Omowaiye who confirmed the award of the contract to Messrs Slavabogu Nigeria Limited.
Speaking further, Engr. Omowaiye said the construction of the said road was approved among other four major roads, based on socio-economic importance among other parameters considers.
“In view of the commitment of Mr. Governor to infrastructural development and the urge to spread the dividends of democracy to the nooks and crannies of the State despite meagre resources accruable to the State from the Federation Account, Mr. Governor has approved that that the Construction of Osogbo-Kelebe-Iragbiji road be awarded on Contractor-Financed mode, to Messrs SLAVABOGU Nigeria Limited.”
The minister further confirmed the amount at which the contract was awarded to be N1,628,279,540.43, with the hope that the construction will be completed within 8 months. He said;
“The Construction of Osogbo-Kelebe-Iragbiji road was awarded at a well-negotiated price of One Billion, Six Hundred and wenty-Eight Million, Two Hundred and Seventy-Nine Thousand, Five Hundred and Forty Naira, Forty-Three Kobo (N1,628,279,540.43)
