Ex EFCC Boss, Ibrahim Magu was yesterday prevented from presenting defence letter to the presidential panel after waiting for 5 hours.
The embattled former EFCC acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu has been denied the opportunity to present his defense by the presidential panel on Thursday.
Magu alongside his defense attorney Wahab Shittu had attempted to present a 34-page letter with 100 annexure to prove his innocence on the numerous allegations levelled against him but were prevented from doing so.
Addressing pressmen, legal counsel to Ibrahim Magu hinted that they had stormed the venue of the presidential panel investigation committee by 1pm on Thursday afternoon but waited till 6pm and the presentation could not be done. However, he assured that they will return a day after to the panel for same purpose.
Recall that Magu was summoned on July 6th by the operatives of State Security Service (SSS)over allegations ranging from act of insubordination and high level corruption charges.
Among top charges, presidential committee on Audit of Recovered Assets (PCARA) is probing him for illegal acquisition of properties in Dubai and siphoning recovered looted funds into his personal bank accounts.
The suspended EFCC boss, served in acting capacity for 5 years when the 8th senate led by Senator Bukola Saraki refused to approve him after his name was submitted twice by the presidency.
