Indian man bought golden face mask worth of N1.5m

– An Indian man bought golden face mask worth of N1.5m to protect him against the dreaded COVID-19 disease.

An Indian business man, Shankar Kurhade has displayed his expensive golden face mask Worth of $4000, equivalent to N1.5m Nigeria Currency.

The face mask is to protect him from the dreaded COVID-19 disease that has caused the glob pandemic.

Shankar said the golden face mask which weighs 60 grams (two ounces), according to AFP, took craftsmen eight days to make it.

“It is a thin mask and has tiny pores that is helping me to breathe,” he told AFP.

The 49-year-old businessman said he loves to adorn himself with gold jewelry weighing kilograms, including a bracelet, necklace and rings on each finger of his right hand.

Kurhade, whose company makes industrial sheds, said he got the idea for the gold face mask after seeing a media report about a man wearing one made from silver.

“People are asking me for selfies,” he said.

“They are awestruck when they see me wearing the gold mask in markets.”

It is also noteworthy that, like every other country, India has made the wearing of facemasks mandatory in public places as a control measure to the spread of the coronavirus disease in the country.

India currently have about 640,000 confirmed cases with over 18,600 fatalities since the outbreak in the country, hence the need for active measures against the virus.
