– President Buhari suspends 11 top EFCC officials for having connection with the ongoing investigation of the former acting chairman

The president of the federation, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari, Rtd., has approved the suspension of 11 top officials connected to the underhanded behavior of the suspended chairman of the commission.

Among the top officials suspended is the secretary of the commission, the Olanipekun Olukoyede.

According to a report by PMNews, the suspension of the said officials which were announced by the Presidency on Tuesday was to allow for an undistrupted investigation process.

Furthermore, the report has it tricksters were suspended based on different allegations of corrupt infrastructure.

“All the top officials in the agency have been suspended, their offices locked, to prevent any tampering with files at the commission”, PMNews reported.

It should be noted that the suspended secretary, a former chief of staff to the suspended AG chairman of the EFCC is became the secretary as a replacement of Emmanuel Aremo whose tenure expired in 2018.

Furthermore, Ibrahim Magu is still being grilled by the Presidency investigative panel set to unveil his curropt deeds.

He is under intense questioning for corrupt charges of re-looting recovered loots while in capacity, among other corrupt charges.

The former EFCC acting chairman was recently asked to defend his cause in the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) report accusing him of siphoning money from the commission.
