– Ibrahim Magu requests for bail on self recognizance.
As the investigation process of the suspension acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu is ongoing, Magu has requested to be released on bail.
Ibrahim Magu made this demand in a letter written to the Inspector general of police, Mohammed Adamu on Thursday.
In the letter dated 10th of July, 2020, the legal representative of the suspect, Oluwatosin Ojaomo, requested Adamu to grant bail to his client on “self recognizance”.
You will recall that Ibrahim Magu was arrested on Monday and taken to the presidential villa in Abuja, where he was interrogated by an Ayo Salami-led panel.
Magu has hence been in detention, answering questions on embezzled recovered loot and selling of seized assets to associates.
