Only Presidency can Appoint or Sack Service Chiefs – Buhari

President Buhari snaps back at the senate, told than only the presidency can Appoint or Sack Service Chiefs.

With the senate calling on president Buhari to sack service chiefs still fresh in the minds of Nigerians, the Presidency has withsake intimidation and gave its own response.

President Buhari through his media aide recalled his veto power that rights him in appointing and dismissing services chiefs.

The presidential media aide, Femi Adesina affirms that the interest of Nigeria is ways in the president’s mind and will always take decisions at the best interest of the citizens.

Adesina in a statement titled “Service Chiefs: Position of Presidency on Resolution by the Senate” told the senate that the appointment or dismissal of service chief is a presidential prerogative.

The statement read; “The Senate Tuesday adopted a resolution calling on the Service Chiefs to resign or be sacked due to the multi-pronged security challenges in the country.”

“The Presidency notes the resolution, and reiterates that appointment or sack of Service Chiefs is a Presidential prerogative, and President Muhammadu Buhari, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, will do what is in the best interest of the country at all times.”

It is no long memory of the Nigerian citizens that the senate, on Tuesday called for the service chiefs to be dispel of their service terms.

The Senate lured the need for these service chiefs to be laid off with the increasing insecurity in the country.
