Gov. Oyetola Debunk Spending N9 Billions to fight COVID-19 in Osun State, says it’s for provision of relief package for. Citizens as well as SMEs.
The governor of Osun state, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola has refuted the ongoing rumors of spending nine billion Naira (N9b) to fight COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
Governor Oyetola made this known on Monday while signing the revised budget of N82.2 billion at the state house in Osogbo.
The governor, while explaining the figures, said COVID-19 stands on two legs – health, being the present leg; and economy, being the future leg of the pandemic.
He further explained that the N9 billion earmarked for COVID-19 is to provide a stimulus package that takes care of the health aspect of the pandemic.
He further added that the rumored amount also provides palliative for the economic recovery aspect through the provision of support to Small &Medium Scale Enterprises.
