Following the declaration by the Federal Government of Nigeria that it is safe for the final year primary schools students, Junior Secondary School and Senior Schools to resume and write their examinations.
The Lagos State government today, declared that the students in the category, that is, primary six, Junior School 3 and Senior School 3 are to resume for “transitional class” on August 3, 2020.
Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu made this statement in a televised press briefing earlier today.
However, the governor made it clear that the students in senior secondary school 3 and technical school 3 are to resume first, while the pupils in Junior Secondary School 3 and primary schools will resume a week or two later.
While imploring the school authorities to make adequate preparation ahead the transitional class, he emphasised that tertiary institutions still remain closed as only students with mandatory examinations are to resume for revision and examinations.

Speaking further, the governor also stated that the resumption is applicable to only day schooling.
He added that primary school students will not write their normal common entrance examinations, rather, they’ll be graded by their present results to qualify for entrance into Secondary School.
He therefore urge the school authorities to use the opportunity between now and the resumption date to make preparations for safety protocols as indicated by NCDC, and also for physical distancing in the schools.
