Osun state government warns private schools who may use the partial resumption as an opportunity to reopen schools, says resumption is only for schools registered for WASSCE examinations.
The leadership of Osun state, under Governor Gboyega Oyetola has reiterated the conditions for partial schools resumption.
The governor who perceived that some private schools may leverage on this opportunity to reopen schools cautioned such actions.
Speaking through the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Funke Egbemode the governor said the partial resumption is Only for Senior Secondary School 3 (SSS 3) and schools that are registered to conduct the WASSCE Examinations.
Egbemode reteriated that “the Federal Government has approved neither the reopening of all schools nor the resumption of all students.” and any school which does otherwise has flagrantly disregard the directives of both the Federal and the state government.
Speaking further, the Commissioner stated that it 13,177 students and 188 schools registered for the 2020 WASSCE examination are expected to Resume the partial reopening of schools.
She therefore promised a strict punishment for any schools that flaunted this directive and go ahead to open schools when they are not registered for the WASSCE examinations.
You’ll recall that the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, has directed the exiting class that are preparing for the final year WASSCE examination to Resume on the 4th of August.
The directive orders the schools to partially resume and have a 2-week preparation for ahead the August 17th final year WASSCE.
