COVID-19: Toll hits 48000 as Nigeria recorded 373 new cases

The COVID-19 toll in Nigeria hits 48000 confirmed cases as the country recorded 373 new cases nationwide.

The new 373 cases of the Coronavirus disease was reported by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, as the total number of positive cases confirmed on Thursday.

47000 and still counting as Nigeria records 423 new cases of Coronavirus


NCDC made the disclosure as part of their daily COVID-19 Update which covers for all states across the federation.

The result shows that 20 States have jointly recorded the said number of cases.

A further breakdown of the report showed the following number of cases for each of the 20 states:

Oyo-40
FCT-35
Plateau-22
Rivers-19
Kano-17
Ondo-17
Ogun-15
Abia-14
Gombe-12
Imo-9
Enugu-7
Kwara-6
Delta-5
Niger-2
Borno-1
Bauchi-1
Nasarawa-1

Furthermore, the report showed that the total confirmed cases across the country is now 48,116 across all the 36 states.

Meawhile, 34,309 patients have been discharged after fully recovered from the infectious virus.

However, 966 patients died of the pandemic disease.
