The Nation Rescue Movement, NRM has dragged the All Progressive Congress, APC to Court Over what they tagged illegal nomination of aspirant in the coming Edo Gurber Poll, court order notice be served to APC headquarters in Abuje.
The pursuit to obtain the gubernatorial seat of Edo between top political parties keeps getting tough and individual deploying their various strategies to see this come true.
It is no news that the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress is Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu who recently received the presidential approval last week.
However, there are some bodies who claimed there are some illegalities in the nomition of Ize-Iyamu.
It is in this wise that the National Rescue Movement, NRM, has dragged the All Progressive Congress, APC to court for illegal nomination of their aspirants.
The NRM claimed the approval letter was meant to be signed by the National Executive Committee of the Party but was rather signed by the Caretaker Committee of the party.
It is pertinent to note that the party has dismissed the National Executive Committee led by Adams Oshiomhole on the 25th of June, 2020 which led to the inauguration of the caretaker committee led by Governor Mai Malam Buni.
The National Rescue Movement has thus filed a law suit against the All Progressive Congress, INEC, Ize-Iyamu and his running mate on what they tagged as illegal nomination of aspirant in the coming September election in Edo.
The suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/743/2020 and filed on August 6, 2020, thus seek for the removal of the All Progressive Congress and her candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu as well as her running mate in the coming Edo election.
At last week’s sitting, presided by Justice Ahmed Mohammed, the plaintiff had accused Ize-Iyamu and his deputy, Audu Ganiyu of evading service and prayed court to order service on them through the national headquarters of the APC in Abuja.
The court however granted this prayer in a short ruling where Justice Mohammed ordered that the originating processes and hearing notice be served on them through the APC headquarters in Abuja.
Lastly, the court thereby adjourned the next sitting to the 18th of August.
