FG Suspends Unilag VC, Pro-Chancellor Pending Presidential Panel's Report

The Federal Government of Nigeria has placed on suspension, the Pro-Chancellor and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos on suspension.

The Pro-Chancellor and chairman governing council of the University of Lagos, Dr. B. O. Babalakin as well as the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. O. T. Ogundipe has been orders to steer clear of their responsibility as regard the said offices.

According to a statement by the Federal Ministry of Education through their Twitter handle, the suspension is to take effect pending the time the panel set to visit the institution will give their report.

The governing body of the University of Lagos has been in a power tussle over the removal of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ogundipe.



This has made the Federal government to set up a panel to pay the institution a special visit and expected to give their report on their findings.

With this order, the duo has been told to steer clear of their duties as the head is of the University.
