Lagos State Commissioner for Health Tests Positive of COVID-19

The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi has announced that he has tested positive of the COVID-19 disease.

The commissioner declared himself positive in a statement he released on his Twitter page on Monday morning.

Speaking further, the Prof. Abayomi further stated that he has embarked on a 14-day self isolation and home treatment since he received his potitive test result.

He wrote; “With utmost sense of responsibility, I am obliged to make it known to the general public that I have tested positive to #COVID19. Consequently, I have proceeded on a 14 days self- isolation and treatment at home.”

The commissioner however expressed the readiness to continue the discharge of his commissioner duty despite being on isolation.

While appreciating the support he received from the Lagos state government, he revealed that he and his family has been responding well to treatment.

He therefore urged Nigerians to continue to abide with the COVID-19 preventive measures by using face masks and maintaining physical distancing.
