The fight against insecurity in Nigeria is about to take another dimension as explained by President Mohammadu Buhari.
In order to see to this effect, the president has met with the head of security intelligence agencies as well as members of the Security Committee of the Nigerian Givernors’ Forum.
Speaking after the meeting, the president restated the need to collaborate with state governments in the fight against insucurity in the country.
President Buhari also revealed that Nigeria is anticipating the delivery of weapons and aircrafts order from the United States, China and Jordan.
“We are expecting the shipment of military weapons and aircraft we ordered from Jordan, China and the United States. As I have explained, we need patience on the part of the Nigerian public, for the new equipment to arrive, and for our personnel to receive appropriate training.” He said.
He further stressed that the said weapons are not only for land operations but equally for combating insurgency on the sea, especially the gulf of Guinea.
“The new weapons, aircraft and equipment are not only for the fight against criminality on land; we are also acquiring them for maritime protection, in the Gulf of Guinea. I am pleased to see the renewed efforts of the Nigerian Navy in that regard.” The president added.
Recall that the president had earlier implore Nigerians to exercise patience as the Federal government is doing all in their capacity to ensure a safe abode for all.
