Police deploys 5000 men to Ondo State local government elections, send warning to politicians.
In a bid to maintain order, peace and a free and fair election in the Saturday local government election in Ondo state, the state police command has deployed 5000 men to oversee the election.
This was disclosed in by the state’s commissioner of Police, CP Bolaji Salami on Wednesday.

He said the Ondo State police command deployed 5,000 cops to maintain order and provide security in the local government elections taking place in all the 18 local governments in the state.
Speaking further, CP Salami said the Command was prepared for the conduct of the election, adding that other security agencies including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and the Department of State Services (DSS) would collectively provide security during the exercise.
The commissioner therefore warned political thugs to steer clear from the electioneering process and allow for peaceful election.
Salami also charged all participants in the election to adhere to the rules of the game.
The commissioner revealed that the Police had concluded arrangement to deploy more men to the state because of the October 10, 2020 governorship election.
According to him the men would be drawn from Edo, Osun, Ogun and Ekiti states for peaceful conduct of the gubernatorial election.
Recall that INEC has declared October 10, 2020 for the conduction of the Ondo state gubernatorial election.
