Osun Trains 1620 Teachers Ahead Resumption of Schools

The government of Osun state has trained 1,620 teachers and educators ahead resumption of schools.

This is part of the preparation for safe reopening of schools after months of closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking of the virtual training, the Executive Chairman of Osun State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Hon. Israel Famurewa, believed the initiative will further strengthen the education within the state.

Famurewa stated that the virtual training which was organized for heads of primary and junior secondary schools was to prepare the teachers for the provision of qualitative education for children of the State, according to the passion and focus of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

He however expressed satisfaction with the training programme and stated that it would go a long way to keep teachers abreast of the global transformational teaching techniques in a Post COVID-19 era.

The Osun SUBEB chairman however, implored the participants to reproduce the knowledge derived from the training at their various places of primary assignment, in order to move education in the State to a greater height.

The program which was in partnership with Destiny Development Initiative was a huge success.

In his welcome address, the Executive Secretary, Mr Adeoye Bakare, thanked Destiny Development Initiative, and advised teachers to be alive to their duties and to complement government’s huge investment in the education sector by following the best practices in the post COVID-19 education management.

He further implored the participants to make judicious use of acquired knowledge through the training exercise to fine-tune their teaching techniques so as to enhance effective teaching and learning for the benefit of Osun school children as they are our leaders-in-waiting.
