Schools’ Resumption: LASU Release Guidelines for Resumption

Lagos State University, Ojo (LASU) has declared readiness to reopen for resumption of academic activities.

Speaking on a radio interview on Monday, the University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, disclosed that the students of the university will resume in batches.

The University head revealed that the students in 400, 500 and 600 levels are to resume first before other levels.

The said students, who are off-campus residents would resume and receive intensive lectures for a period of two (2) months between 9am and 3pm daily.

Afterwards, the students in 200 and 300 levels are to resume for another period of two (2) months of lectures after which they will begin their examinations.

Prof. Fagbohun also revealed that resumption for the 200 and 300 levels will be in batches, divided within the days of the week.

Mondays and Wednesdays will be for the students in 300 level to receive lectures on campus, while Tuesdays and Thursdays will be for the students in 200 in order to maintain social distancing.

The leg icon said the decision was in a bid to protect the lives of the students and staff of Lagos State University and to prevent contracting the Coronavirus disease.

Concluding his statement, the VC noted that all precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 had been put in place by the management.

He also revealed that the University has provided the students and staffs alike with running water and soap for regular hand washing, adding that use of nose mask is a necessity.
