Transportation University to Complete by 2021 says FG

The Federal Government of Nigeria has promised that the Transportation University situated in Katsina will be completed by 2021.

Speaking at a courtesy visit to the Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has said the contractors will finish up the construction by September 2021.

Amaechi on Saturday paid the Katsina State governor a courtesy visit alongside a team of consultant.

While speaking, the Minister revealed that the $50m project has jest received final approval from the state government and work is expected to begin by September.

Speaking further, the Minister also disclosed that the CCECC will provide the necessary manpower and technical skills for five years before the federal government will be able to take over.

The Transportation University Project is a corporate social responsibility project of CCECC, the Chinese company handling the nation’s rail project.

In 2019, President Mohammadu Buhari marked the beginning of the construction of the institution in his home town in Daura but the advent of the pandemic tarried the project.
