Breaking: Osun Schools to Revert to Old School Uniform November 9

The Osun State government has declared its readiness to revert the one-uniform policy of the schools across the state and allow all schools return to it’s old uniforms.

This was made known by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Mr Jamiu Olawumi on Thursday while responding to questions on a live Rave Fm radio program tagged “Frank Talk” monitored in Osogbo.

Speaking of the preparations of the Oyetola-led administration to reopen schools across the state, Olawumi stated that efforts are being put in place to ensure safe resumption for schools.

He said the state has put in place measures that will help tame the spread of the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic ahead the September 21 that schools will resume.

The Special Adviser allayed the fears of parents and guardians concerning the novel coronavirus, saying the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has set machineries in motion to ensure the safe resumption of students.

He said apart from the provision of safety materials that will help curb the spread of the virus among students and teachers, all schools including private schools across the state have been fumigated by the Osun Ministry of Environment which has the right formula for the process.

Olawumi added that the State Government had also engaged all stakeholders including parents on the modalities for resumption before deciding on the procedure, manner and date for resumption.

Speaking on the review of the education policy, the Special Adviser said reversal of the schools names which was announced by the state government will take place immediately, while the reversal to the old uniforms will commence on November 9th which is the start of the new academic session.

The revitalization policy that led to changing schools across the state to elementary, middle and high schools and also use of a school uniform for a category of class in all public schools across the state was effected by the Aregbesola-led administration.

Since then, lots of disadvantages has been recorded with students difficult to apprehend when they commit a crime outside schools as all students across the state has oy one identity and lots of other cons recorded from the policy.
