Delta State Constitute Flood Management Committee to Safeguard Citizens From Flood

In an effort to safeguard the citizens of Delta state from the ravaging flood in the state, the state’s government has constituted a 10-man flood management committee.

Mr. Chiedu Ebie who is the secretary to the state government disclosed this while receiving officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in his office in Asaba.

The SSG restated the commitment of the state to collaborate with NEMA in the fight against flood in the easily flooded region of Nigeria.

Ebie disclosed that the government of the state, in its effort to protect its citizens from flood, has inaugurated a 10-man flood management committee.

He further said that the committee has started liaising with the chairmen of the affected local governments of the state in identifying relatively safe areas for their community.
