With the ongoing Edo state governorship election generating several reactions from both the political parties and the voters, a policeman has expressed his anger over unpaid allowance.
The police officer at one of the checkpoints on Auchi-Igarra road in Edo, said the allowances meant for officers on election duty in the state has not been paid.
Hence, the justification of his anger as an officer in the electioneering process.
According to Vanguard, the officer stated that other police officers deployed from other states have been paid, meanwhile, those working within the state has not been paid.
The report also stated that some policemen were stranded on the Igarra-Auchi highway battling with their faulty Mercedes Benz conveying them to their duty post.
According to TheCable, the officer siad; “I am angry that we have not been paid. Other officers who came in from outside Edo have been paid. Other officers on this highway have also not been paid allowances,” the officer lamented.
