Edo Poll: Full Security as Citizens Troop out to Exercise their Franchise

It was a peaceful beginning with no potential for violence or incredulity of the fairness of the Edo state governorship election as security operatives flood the state to ensure peaceful electoral process.

According to the report by TODAY the full security of the state is an indication of a peaceful election with no potential for violence whatsoever.

Furthermore, there is a full compliance of the restriction of movements across the state, “the processes of making the election peaceful and credible is uninterrupted” Today reported.

The report also confirmed that the city of Benin reputed for its hour-long traffic jam is free as a result of the compliance to restricted movement, this is equally so in all the streets of Edo state.

Also, Nigeria News World gathered that there has been a massive turnout of the citizens who are eager to exercise their franchise and chose who their shepherd for the next four years would be.

The 193 wards and 18 local governments of the state is experiencing an impressive turnout of the citizens who are eager to chose their number one citizens for the coming years.

NNW also gathered that security operatives has arrived in their duty posts in most polling units of the state, to enforce restriction on movement of people and vehicles during election.

Furthermore, NAN also disclosed that security operatives were present as early as 6 a.m. in strategic locations in the city centres of the three senatorial districts of Edo South, Central and North.

Boundaries, including Edo South — Idogbo, Etete/Adesuwa, Oluku, Upper Siluko, Ologbo and Eyean — are supervised by security personnel that ask motorists without movement permit to park and check for Permanent Voter Card (PVC) to pass.
