Aston Villa today announced the former Arsenal goalie has signed for the club.
He was earlier reported on Wednesday that he has left the Emirates in search of first team football.
Meanwhile, it was reported today that the goalie signed a four-year deal with his new club Villa after spending almost eleven years at the Emirates side.
Upon his departure from the London side, said;
“Thank you, thank you for all of the years. I thank God for having the opportunity over the past months to show the club’s fan base what I am made of, and why I went on loan so many times. It was always to come back and win them trophies and give them silverware. I did it, I feel prouder than ever.”
“They made me as a goalkeeper; not just the club, not just my goalkeeping coaches but the fans as well because they supported me, gave me the confidence to perform as well and I wish them all the best and hope they win many trophies. Thank you, that’s all I can say.”
It has been speculated that Martinez will leave the Emirates stadium prior to his performance since the premier league project restart.
