Everton Secures James Rodriguez for £20m

An important deal sealed between Everton and the the Spanish side, Real Madrid has seen to the transfer of the Colombia midfielder, James Rodriguez to the earlier.

The 29-year-old former Real Madrid player was signed into Everton Team for £20m on a two year contract deal which is renewable.

Rodriguez who joined the Madrid side in 2014 after winning the golden boot at the year’s world cup in Brazil couldn’t contain his excitement after signing the transfer deal.

Speaking on his move, he revealed he was really happy to join Everton, priding in the team’s long records, he never failed to mention his familiarity with the club’s manager.

He further declared his readiness to get along with the team and win trophies for the team this coming season.

“I’m looking forward to achieving great things here – and winning things, which is what everyone’s aim is.” He said.

“I’ve come here to try to improve, to get better. I’ve also come here to help the team to win, to play good football – entertaining football.” he added.

Meeting Carlo Ancelotti in Everton makes it the third time he’ll be working with the manager, having played for him in Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

He however declared his confidence in Ancelotti and believed in great things coming to the team.

“I’m convinced, with Carlo and his technical staff, we can achieve big things and one of the big reasons [I signed] was the presence of Carlo Ancelotti.”

“I have enjoyed some great times with him previously at two different clubs. That was a massive reason to come here.” he had said.

Rodriguez in his last part of his deal with the Spanish champion had 14 appearances with Zidane’s team.

He is part of an ambitious Ancelotti rebuilding programme at Everton, with the Toffees having signed Napoli’s combative Brazil international Allan and agreed a fee for Watford’s French midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure.
