Fani Kayode Reacts to How Tinubu Sat While Greeting Ooni of Ife

One of the trending topic among Nigerians today is the name “Tinubu” as evident on twitter.

News had it yesterday that the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu put on what could be described as a show of shame on the Yorubahood when he sat while greeting Ooni of Ife.

This has generated several of reactions from Nigerians who believed that act is disrespective to a Yoruba traditional ruler.

Speaking on this act, Femi Fani Kayode described it as an act of shame to every Ife indigenes and indeed, all sons and daughters of Yoruba.

Fani Kayode, via his official Twitter handle @realffk, believed that no notherner will dare to display such daring acts while greeting their traditional rulers.

The tweet reads;

As a Yoruba man or woman, it is obligatory, ethical and respectful to prostrate while greeting a traditional ruler.

Yoruba believes that the traditional mornachs are next to idols, this is evident in one of their eulogies, “Aláṣẹ èkejì òrìṣà” translated literally “one who holds authorities next to the gods”.
