Schools resume in Osun state after six months of closure

It was a buzzling occasion in Osun state has students across the state resume schools after six months of COVID-19 induced closure.

The students who are eager to see the four walls of their classrooms after such a long time were seen in face masks as they troop to their various schools.

Scouting the schools across the states to see the compliance of the schools with the laid down COVID-19 preventive measures, our correspondent gathered that the schools made preparations for handwashing equipment among other COVID-19 PPE equipment.

On the parts of the students, some of the students couldn’t contain their excitement after spending such a long time at home and were finally allowed back to school.

However, some lazy birds among the students wish to spend more times at home.

Furthermore, the students and staffs of Oyan High School, Oyan in Odo-Otin LGA of the state affirmed the eagerness of the students and staffs on this resumption as they confirmed that even the PTA teachers turn up for the resumption.

On the same note, while some of the public schools across the state spend the first day of resumption to make their school environments clean, safe and conducive for learning, some private own schools of the state has already commenced learning activities with no further delay.

Recall that the Osun state government earlier announced a tentative resumption for September 21, 2020, however, there has been doubts as to the effect of the resumption plan.

Similarly, the state government, in a tweet on Saturday, said the scheduled resumption will not be feasible and announced that only final year students of Osun State College Of Health Technology, Ilesa in Ilesa East LGA of the state are to resume on the said 21st September.

However, it was entirely a different experience as our currespondents visit the schools to confirmed the resumption, which we confirmed that schools in Osun State has truly resumed.
