The legendary second choice goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has left the Emirates Stadium he said in a goodbye message to the club’s fans.
Emiliano Martinez will be joining Aston Villa as it is speculated to be around £20m. His market value surged higher after he was Arteta’s preferred choice due to Bernd Leno’s injury.
The goalie has been at the club since 2010, but has been the club’s second choice to other goalkeepers.
He decided to move on in his career as a result of Bernd Leno’s return from injury and as such won’t be in contention for the number one spot.
In his Instagram post earlier today, the FA cup winner said;
“With my family I decided, eleven years at the club, ten years worked so hard, I leave through the front door today.”
“For me I would not be happier to leave through the front door with the Arsenal fanbase supporting me and the club.”
“I’m very grateful for the eleven years at Arsenal, even if it was a hard road for me.”
The FA community shield winner, has been the hero for Arsenal since the premier league project restart; helping his team to a fourteenth (14) FA cup glory in Wembley stadium last season.
