There is election manipulation against me – Obaseki cries out

The incumbent governor of Edo state and the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has cried out over purported electoral manipulation against him.

Obaseki who spoke through his Special Adviser, Crusoe Osagie, said there is an ongoing deliberate election manipulation in areas where he has strongholds.

The PDP choice who lamented over sudden malfunctioning of card readers in areas where he has higher chance, also said the voters are being denied their voting rights.

According to TodayNg, he was quoted saying: “Suddenly, card readers are not working in areas where Governor Godwin Obaseki is very popular.

“Voters are being disenfranchised and we are constrained to say that this is sabotage,” Osagie said in a statement to newsmen on Saturday during the polls.

“Specifically, in Oredo Ward 1, Unit 20 and other places where the Governor is clearly popular, the card readers are not working.

“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should prove to Edo voters that it can conduct a credible election in Edo State.”

Meanwhile, Nigeria News World also gathered that the governor, earlier today was carrying out stop and search for vehicles against incriminating materials.
