#EndSARS: Rep Assures Army will not disrupt peaceful protest

The controversies surrounding the upcoming Operation Crocodile Smile VI of the Nigerian Army has been cleared by the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Army, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisayo.

Adefisoye in a tweet made available on his Twitter handle on Saturday, assured the #EndSARS protesters that Army will not in anyway disrupt their peaceful demonstration by the scheduled Crocodile Smile operation.

The member of house of representatives went extra mile to described the operation as an annual military event in the Nigeria Army which is not in any way relative to or affect the nationwide #EndSARS protest.

He also pledge his support to the relentless efforts of the Nigerian youths, which he described as a struggle to reposition the Nigerian nation.

The Federal lawmaker, however, pleaded for coordination amongst the youth as well as their preparedness for discussion with the government.

He wrote; “The struggle and effort of our Youths at repositioning Nigeria in the last 12 days must not be in vain. Let there be better coordination.

“There should be Leadership the Government can talk to at various levels to consolidate the gains of these protests. #EndSARS”

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army, in a statement had earlier stated that the Operation Crocodile Smile VI “is deliberately intended to be all encompassing to include cyber warfare exercises designed to identify, track and counter negative propaganda in the social media and across the cyberspace.

“This is the first ever Cyberwarfare exercise to be conducted in the history of the African Armed Forces.

“Accordingly, the exercise will also include positive identification component aimed at identifying Boko Haram terrorists fleeing from the North East and other parts of the country as a result of the ongoing operations in the various theatres of operations especially in the Northeast, North Central and North Western parts of Nigeria.” The statement read.
