Just in: NYSC camp to reopen November 10

The National Youth Service Corps Orientation camp is set to reopen by November 10 after about six months of closure.

This was disclosed in a tweet by the Minister of Youths and Sports, Sunday Dare, on Thursday.

He tweeted, “The Resumption of the NYSC Orientation Camp for prospective Youth Corpers has been approved and opens on November 10th 2020. Full COVID-19 Protocols will be enforced.”

Recall the Federal government, as part of the procedures embarked on in curbing the spread of COVID-19 disease, ordered the immediate closure of all NYSC orientation camps nationwide on March 18.

The Federal government has been taking gradual processes in restoring economy and national activities across the country as the COVID-19 pandemic is coming to an end.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control announced 179 new COVID-19 infections in the country on Wednesday.

The agency said the new infections have brought the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 60,834.

According to the agency, 137 COVID-19 patients were discharged across the country in the last 24 hours with the total number of successfully treated cases rising to 52,143.

The agency said that the country reported zero COVID-19 related death with the national death toll from the pandemic put at 1,116.

It said that the total number of confirmed cases was 60,834, while 52,143 patients have been discharged and 1116 deaths recorded in 36 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory.
