The governor of Plateau state Simon Lalong has restated the undividened support of Northern states to the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police.
The governor disclosed this in an interview with State House correspondents on Thursday after a meeting with President Buhari at Aso Villa in Abuja.
Lalong, who happens to be the Chairman of the Northern States Governors, said the disbanded squad has been a useful tool in combating insecurity in the Northern part of the Country.
While noting that Buhari had already approved the scrapping of the police unit, Lalong said northern states do not believe in throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
He, however, admitted that the unit needed reforms.
