At Last! School Resumption: Lagos State Government Announce Date For All Remaining School Classes

The Lagos State Honourable Commissioner of Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo has announced the resumption of all remaining classes in both public and private schools in the state beginning from Monday 19th of October 2020.

This was contained in a press release signed by Kayode Abayomi, Head of Public Affairs in the Ministry Of Education.

According to her, this is for the 2020/2021 academic session and will now include pupils in pre-primary i.e day-care, kindergarten and nursery Schools.

The Commissioner noted that this decision was taken after careful deliberation and consultation with relevant stakeholders.

According to the release, all public and private schools are strongly advised to put safety first by adhering to the Covid-19 safety protocols and hygiene guidelines as instructed by the State Government through the Ministry Of Education.

In line with this,the Office Of the Education Quality Assurance will continue to monitor and evaluate schools preparedness.

The Honourable Commissioner also enjoined school owners and managers of all private schools to ensure that they are cleared by the Office Of Education Quality Assurance before physical resumption and wished all pupils and students in the state a successful and fruitful new academic session.
