The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has disclosed that there’s no plans in sight as to ending the lingering strike embarked upon by the union.
Disclosing this in a press statement by the Abuja zone of the union on Tuesday, the university lecturers admonished her members to seek alternative means of survival as the Federal government is yet to show any commitment.
Furthermore, ASUU disclosed that the federal government is still holding on to salaries of the union from February, hence the need for the members to source for legit alternative means of survival.
The statement reads in part; “Today, we wish to let Nigerians especially our students and parents know that there is no hope in sight to ending or suspending the ASUU strike that has lingerd for several months as Government is yet to show serious commitment towards addressing our core demands.
“Our members have been advised to seek other legitimate means of survival as the Government has not released salaries withheld since February, 2020.”
