The teaching hospital which is located in Osogbo, the capital city of Osun state has been officially handed over to the Osun State University.
The development follows the dissolution of joint ownership of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso, between Osun state and the border state, Oyo.
Recall the Nigeria University Commission, NUC, had transfered the ownership of the institution to Oyo State after an agreement was reached between the two states.
On the same note, the University’s Teaching Hospital which is located within Osun state was handed over to Osun state government as its share of the University which has been in the hands of the two states over the years.
According to a statement released by the government of Osun state on Saturday, the governor of the state, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola has directed the Osun state-owned University to take over the hospital.
In this regard, the former LAUTECH Teaching Hospital was hence named UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, (UNIOSUNTH), Osogbo.
